Knowing the Moon Child

CANCER

Symbol: The Crab
Element: Water
Stone: Moonstone
Ruling Planet: The Moon
Vibration: up and down
Life Quest: affection and mutual assurance – if you’re a jerk, run.
Hidden Dream: to “fly to the moon and sing upon the stars.” Romance, money, and spiritual fill.

The moon child is often a living paradox, a hodgepodge of emotions and contradicting qualities. They display compassion for about anything that breathes – a lover, a dying plant, etc. Be watchful though for your moon fellow could change in a snap, sometimes without any known determiner. More fickle than the weather and more changeable than the stock market, Cancerians are among the most eccentric people in the zodiac. They could be noticeably cheerful one minute, and disturbingly emo the next (although not necessarily in a bipolar sense manic). Like the crab, they may project toughness and pride due to their intimidating and hands-off exterior (who would dare mess with a pincher?), but deep within is an endearing little kid that rejoices upon free ice cream.

Like the moon, Cancers experience many different phases in life, although their evolution does not necessarily entail a change in location. Surprisingly so, a Cancerian can stay in one room for a week or with one lover for years and resurface as a person who has gone through a lot. This is because they tend to live in an internal storm of rigorous emotional and mental activity; as such, they constantly grow form one state of mind to another.

Their sometimes ridiculous imagination, their sudden bouts of “what-if’s,” and their fluctuating aura give them a unique charm.  The crabs are passionate lovers and alluring intellectual companions. In totality, they are seen as borrowed souls set to turn the world into magic.

Quote from a Famous Cancerian:

“Love is the mystery of water and a star.”
Pablo Neruda
